the
following polices provide guidelines for the relationship between athletes, their parents
and the coach.
ATHLETES
|
will treat themselves, the coach and all other
athletes with respect; |
|
all athletes must be registered with the QEII
Track Club and Queensland Athletics or dual registered with QLAA; |
|
should arrive at least five minutes before
training; |
|
should contact the coach by text or on mobile
if they are not attending training; |
|
must report any injury whatsoever to the coach
before training; |
|
must come prepared for the session which
includes bringing spikes and joggers, change of clothing, hat,
water, sunscreen and any medications they may need; |
|
are required to pay the entrance track fee at QEII
stadium; |
|
are required to pay the monthly fee on the
first Monday session of the month; |
|
must notify the coach on any change of contact
details, especially email; |
|
treat all club members and other users of the
track with respect; |
|
are encouraged to approach the coach with any
issue or concern they have. |
THE COACH
|
will treat each and every athlete
with respect; |
|
will guarantee the attendance of
the coach at all State and National Championships for senior
and junior athletes; |
|
will guarantee his attendance at QLAA
National and State championships; |
|
where possible will
endeavour to attend Zone/District/Regional Championships to
support squad athletes. |
|
will hold current “Positive
Notice Blue Card for Child Related Employment”. |
|
will hold current
coaching accreditation and association with the professional body
the ATFCA; |
|
will hold
professional indemnity and public liability insurance; |
|
will be available
before and after sessions to discuss issues or at any time by
mobile phone; |
|
will NOT accept new athletes into
squad training sessions for a 2-week period before
Districts/Zones/ Regional's, |
|
will NOT accept new athletes into
squad training sessions for a 3-week period before State
Championships, |
|
will NOT accept new athletes into
squad training sessions or for a 4-week period before
National, or other major Championships. This is for the best
interests of those athletes who have been training
consistently with the squad. New athletes require extra time
and effort from the coaches. This time and effort is best
directed to those athletes who already have shown dedication
to training; |
|
maintains the right to refuse to
coach any athlete due to obvious injury, disruptive behaviour,
disrespect, bad sportsmanship or other appropriate reasons |
ATHLETES PARENTS/PARTNERS
|
are welcome to observe training
sessions. However please leave questions until the end of session
as this takes time away from coaching your athlete; |
|
should approach
the coach immediately if they have any concerns re coaching,
squad dynamics or any external matter affecting their athlete; |
|
are reminded track
and field competitions will occur in all weather conditions and
are only be cancelled in extreme circumstances, so training
is also conducted in all weather; and |
|
are a integral
part of the athletes support team, without you it all stops so
please bring to the attention of the coach any matter affecting
the athlete or your ability to bring the athlete to training etc. |
